Yamamoto leads the way

Yoshinobu Yamamoto put on a masterclass on Tuesday night. He struck out 10 batters in seven innings to help the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 3-1.

This victory gave the Dodgers a 2-1 lead in the National League Division Series. Yamamoto permitted only four hits and one walk.

He improved his impressive postseason career record to 8-1. The star pitcher won the battle against Atlanta ace Chris Sale.

Bats do the damage

Chris Sale allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings. The Braves hoped extra rest would help him, but the Dodgers bats came alive in the fourth inning.

Kiké Hernández hit a two-run home run to left field to drive in Andy Pages. Freddie Freeman followed that up with a solo shot to right field for a 3-0 lead.

Atlanta managed only one run in the fifth inning when Drake Baldwin hit a grounder to first base. Miguel Rojas left the game in the eighth inning due to lower back pain and was replaced by Tommy Edman.
