Rookie Ready To Play
Washington Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa is ready to make his regular season debut on Wednesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Dybantsa was the number one overall pick in the June draft. He missed the first four games of the season while recovering from an ankle injury.
The injury happened in the preseason finale on October 16. The team managed a 2-2 start during his absence.
Preseason And College Stats
Before getting hurt, the 6-foot-9 forward out of BYU played three preseason games. He averaged 13 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and two steals while shooting just over 42 percent from the floor.
During his lone college season in Provo, he posted 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 51 percent from the field during that college run.
Team News
While Dybantsa returns, the Wizards will be without fellow forward Justin Champanie. Champanie is ruled out for the game against the Cavs due to a right foot injury he suffered on Monday night against the Charlotte Hornets.
