Maxey shifts focus to team success

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is coming off a massive year where he averaged a career-high 28.3 points per game. He has earned two All-Star nods in the last three seasons, but the 25-year-old guard says he only cares about team success now.

Speaking after the team's second training camp practice on Wednesday, Maxey made his goals clear. He said he has already shown what he can do talent-wise. He explained that he wants to be judged by winning, and that finding ways to win is his main mindset.

A versatile leader for the 76ers

Maxey is ready to adapt to whatever the team needs. He explained that he can play on or off the ball, run in transition, catch and shoot, or run the pick-and-roll. He plans to play exactly how Coach Nick Nurse wants him to play.

The guard is also stepping up as a vocal leader. He has been with the franchise for seven years, while teammate Joel Embiid has been there for 13. Maxey said he is trying to use his voice and his charisma to help everyone get familiar and comfortable.

He also praised his fellow stars. He called LeBron James a big brother and a good guy. He said Embiid looks healthy, happy, and at peace. Maxey also praised Jaylen Brown, calling him a freak of nature who is stronger and faster than everyone else. Brown was seen working hard after practice, practicing how to handle double teams in the post.
