Sirianni Keeps Faith in Staff

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed on Monday that he will not be making any major staff adjustments. Despite watching his team suffer through a six game losing streak, the coach is sticking to his current plan.

Sirianni announced that Sean Mannion will remain as the offensive coordinator and playcaller. Many supporters wondered if a change was coming after recent results. However, the head coach made it clear that Mannion retains his full support for the upcoming games.

Trouble on the Scoreboard

The Eagles have struggled significantly on the offensive side of the ball this year. It is Mannion's first season taking charge of the team's offensive playcalling, and the results have been hard to watch for fans in Philadelphia.

Under Mannion, the Eagles are averaging only 17.1 points per game. That low scoring average places the team near the very bottom of the league at 30th in the NFL. The poor offensive numbers have contributed directly to the team dropping six matches in a row, dropping their overall record to 2-6 on the season.

Injury Problems and Quarterback Stats

Philadelphia's situation on offense was complicated early on by serious medical news. Primary starting quarterback Jalen Hurts was sidelined for the rest of the season after being diagnosed with blood clots. That forced a change at the most important position on the field.

Tanner McKee was named the starter in place of Hurts. McKee has now started the past three games for the Eagles. Over those three appearances, McKee has completed 63.2 percent of his pass attempts for a total of 639 yards. He has thrown two touchdown passes and two interceptions during this three game stretch.

Moving Forward with McKee

Sirianni confirmed on Monday that McKee will continue to lead the unit on the field. The coach sees no reason to make a switch at quarterback right now.

The Eagles will continue to rely on McKee to guide the offense as they prepare for their next fixture. The team hopes that consistency in personnel will help them fix their scoring issues and end their six game losing run.
