Spanish Giants Watch Haaland
Barcelona and Real Madrid scouts were at Anfield on Sunday to watch Erling Haaland when Manchester City faced Liverpool. Haaland opened the scoring in a 3-0 win over Liverpool. Both of the Spanish giants continue to monitor the possibility of a future move following the club is guilty verdict for hundreds of financial charges.
The two clubs were not just there to watch City players, though. Barca have also been monitoring the situation of defender Ronald Araujo, who is on loan at Liverpool, while Madrid have been checking on Liverpool midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Florian Wirtz.
Chelsea Eye Midfielders
Chelsea are increasingly confident that they will sign AFC Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott during the January transfer window. The belief is that the 23-year-old would find it difficult to turn down a move to Stamford Bridge and the Blues are willing to meet the Cherries demands, with any deal likely to reach around 100 million pounds. Bournemouth turned down all interest in Scott during the summer, but the England international contract expires in 2028 and he has so far resisted any calls for an extension.
Chelsea will also need at least 50 million pounds to tempt Barcelona into letting midfielder Frenkie de Jong leave in the January transfer window. Chelsea are looking at the 29-year-old as they continue their efforts to replace Enzo Fernandez after the Argentina international joined Manchester City in the summer. De Jong is out injured but the Dutch midfielder is nearing a return to fitness.
More European Moves
Borussia Dortmund have been interested in U.S. youth international and Philadelphia Union striker Malik Jakupovic for some time. In the summer, the Bundesliga club submitted an offer for the 17-year-old that was worth 2m euros to 3m euros but was ultimately rejected. Contact continues to exist, but there is major competition for Jakupovic with Chelsea, RB Salzburg, and Stuttgart all looking at him while Eintracht Frankfurt also have in the past.
Getafe are not waiting until January to make their signings as they are looking at free agents Dani Carvajal and Dani Parejo. Former Real Madrid right-back Carvajal has already reached an agreement and the paperwork for the move has been submitted. Having secured the 34-year-old, they are now aiming for Parejo after the midfielder Villarreal contract expired in the summer and they have already made contact.
