Hazard Meets Lavia

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia says a post match meeting with former Blues star Eden Hazard has given him extra drive to succeed. Hazard was back at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to watch Chelsea secure a 2-0 Premier League win against Manchester United.

The 35 year old Belgian legend won six major honours including two Premier League titles during his time at Chelsea. He scored 110 goals in 352 matches before joining Real Madrid in 2019. After Saturday's victory, Hazard greeted the squad inside the stadium.

Building Form After Injuries

Lavia joined Chelsea from Southampton in 2023 for an initial £53 million fee. Persistent injury issues slowed his early progress, but the 22 year old midfielder is now enjoying a strong run of games. He has been included in every Premier League matchday squad so far this season and recently earned a recall to the Belgium national team.

The midfielder has now played the full 90 minutes in consecutive matches. He completed back to back full games against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and Manchester United in the league. Manager Xabi Alonso praised the Belgian player after the United win, saying Lavia is in top form.

Looking Forward

Lavia explained that Hazard remains a key figure for his development. He mentioned that they speak quite a lot and that it was good to see him after the game. Lavia said he could see in Hazard's eyes that he was happy and proud, which gave him extra motivation to keep improving.

The young midfielder remains focused on building his form week by week. He stated that as long as he feels good, he will do everything possible to help the team get results. He added that he is still young with areas to improve, but the work being done at the club is going well.

Chelsea's Current Position

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League table with 16 points from nine matches. Manager Xabi Alonso took charge following his summer appointment and has guided the team into the top four positions.

The Blues now prepare for their next match away to bottom club Sunderland on Sunday. After the upcoming international break, Chelsea will return home to Stamford Bridge to play against Leeds.
