New club in Qatar
Riyad Mahrez has found a new team. The former Manchester City winger signed with Qatari club Al-Shamal SC on a free transfer.
He entered the market as a free agent after leaving Al Ahli in July. He spent three years at the Saudi Pro League club.
Recent form and career past
The thirty five year old played for Algeria at the World Cup this summer. He contributed three goals in four games as his country reached the round of thirty two.
Al-Shamal compete in the Qatar Stars League and sit fifth in the table. The club posted on social media that his left foot made history and their ambition is writing the next chapter with him in their colors.
Success in England and Asia
Mahrez won five Premier League titles during his time in England. He claimed four with Manchester City and one with Leicester City, plus the Treble with City in 2023.
After moving to Al Ahli in 2023, he added more silverware by winning AFC Champions League Elite titles in 2025 and 2026.
