Real Madrid set eyes on Mac Allister
Real Madrid could make a move for Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister in a future transfer window. José Mourinho is an advocate of signing the 27 year old, particularly admiring his physical presence and strength in challenges.
The Argentine international is contracted at Anfield until 2028, with no concrete plans currently in place to extend. Madrid are monitoring his situation, although Liverpool would be expected to resist any approach for a key player.
Liverpool shortlist midfield options
Liverpool hold Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha in high regard. While the 26 year old is not currently a priority target, that could change in the future as the Reds target reinforcements in his position. Nmecha is under contract at Dortmund until June 2030.
Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara and Bournemouth player Alex Scott are both on Liverpool's shortlist. Both players have also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months. Liverpool are also monitoring Leeds defender Tarik Muharemović.
Premier League clubs target fresh talent
Arsenal are interested in Monza striker Gustavo Varela. The 21 year old Portuguese forward has scored seven goals in eight Serie A matches this season. Napoli could make a move in January to beat competition, while former club Benfica retain a right to match future offers.
Manchester United remain interested in Newcastle left back Lewis Hall. The 22 year old recently extended his contract until 2031 and could cost upwards of £70 million. Meanwhile, Manchester United would have to pay £6 million in compensation to Newcastle to land manager Eddie Howe.
