Madrid Cruise Past Valencia

Real Madrid picked up an eighth consecutive victory on Saturday with a comfortable 3-0 win away at Valencia. Federico Valverde opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a low strike into the bottom corner.

Arda Güler doubled the lead eight minutes later after being set up by Jude Bellingham. Güler was starting in place of the suspended Vinícius Júnior. Kylian Mbappé sealed the win 15 minutes from time with his 17th goal of the season, following a late assist from Güler.

Valencia, who are second from bottom in the table, finished the match with 10 men after José Gayà received a late red card. The result moves Madrid level on points with Barcelona at the top of LaLiga, ahead of Barcelona's match against Atlético Madrid on Sunday.

Mourinho Keeps Things Calm

Manager José Mourinho made changes following a midweek win against AEK Athens. He chose team captain Valverde at right back over Trent Alexander-Arnold, who remained on the bench. The victory took Mourinho to 97 LaLiga wins as Madrid manager, leaving him three wins short of reaching 100 with the club.

Despite an eight game winning streak since a loss at Atlético Madrid on Sept. 20, Mourinho wants his team to stay grounded. He explained that winning matches should feel normal for a club like Real Madrid.

Mourinho said he sees a happy dressing room with horrible, loud music. He added that the squad stays calm inside the club, even when a defeat creates outside noise among the fans.

International Break Concerns

Real Madrid now face a two week wait before returning to action at home against Celta Vigo due to the international break.

Mourinho admitted he is worried about his players leaving for national team duty. He noted that if the players remained with his coaching staff, they would receive special attention to help them recover.

He explained that while national team coaches want to train hard, the players actually need rest and careful recovery right now.
