The Baltimore Ravens are struggling without Lamar Jackson, but the team refuses to use injuries as an excuse for their historic losing skid.

A Historic Slump for Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens are enduring one of the worst stretches in team history. Following a 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night, the team dropped to a 4-5 record. Baltimore was held under 14 points for a fourth straight game, which sets a new team record in futility. The squad also lost by 20 or more points in three straight games for the first time in their 31-year history.

No Excuses from Players and Coach

Running back Derrick Henry showed his frustration after the latest defeat, stating that the performance was not good enough. First-year coach Jesse Minter told his players that there are no excuses to be made regarding missing personnel. Offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley echoed this sentiment, pointing out that the team has professional players, a great running back, and a strong offensive line.

Offensive Struggles and Injuries

Quarterback Lamar Jackson is currently on injured reserve with a right thumb injury. Without him, the offense has struggled badly. Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano made his first career start on Thursday because backup Tyler Huntley was out with a toe injury. The Ravens managed only 55 passing yards, and the offense remains stuck in a major rut.

Looking Ahead to the Chargers

The Ravens now have an 11-day break before they host the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football. Coach Minter believes in his group and sees a good opportunity if the team can find consistency across all three phases of the game.
