Jackson stays sidelined with ankle issue

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Coach Jesse Minter announced the decision on Friday, noting that Jackson missed all three practices this week.

This marks the second game Jackson has missed since spraining his left ankle in a win over the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 4. A league source previously stated that Jackson had a realistic chance of returning, but the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player is not ready to play just yet.

Huntley steps up as reliable backup

Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley will start for the Ravens, who currently hold a one-game lead atop the AFC North with a 4-1 record. Huntley has won his last three starts as a fill-in for Jackson, including a 30-23 overtime victory against Atlanta where he scored the winning touchdown on a 1-yard sneak.

Coach Minter expressed full confidence in the backup quarterback. Running back Derrick Henry also voiced support for the team effort required while Jackson recovers from his injury.
