Jeanty Cleared To Play

Las Vegas Raiders starting running back Ashton Jeanty is ready to play in Sunday's matchup against the New England Patriots. Jeanty had been listed as questionable due to an ankle and foot injury.

Jeanty tested his fitness on the field at Gillette Stadium before the game. Team members watched him warm up, including general manager John Spytek, offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko, running backs coach Omar Young, and wellness coordinator Alex Guerrero.

Injury Concerns This Week

Jeanty's status for Week 5 became uncertain following a flare up of plantar fasciitis and an ankle injury he suffered in late August. He went from being a full participant in practice on Wednesday to being limited on Thursday, and he missed the team's final practice before they traveled to Massachusetts. The foot injury did not appear on the practice report until Thursday.

As a precaution, the Raiders moved undrafted rookie running back Roman Hemby from the practice squad. Hemby was ultimately listed as inactive before kickoff.

Rushing Attack Needs A Boost

The Raiders need better production from Jeanty to get their rushing attack going. His numbers have dropped since he rushed for 102 yards in the season opening win against the Miami Dolphins.

Over the past three games, Jeanty has totaled 55 carries for 162 yards. That total includes just two carries of 10 yards or more.
