Packers Add Veteran Guard Kevin Zeitler to Boost Offensive Line

The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a one year contract with veteran guard Kevin Zeitler. This signing is part of an active week for the franchise as they look to rebuild and improve their offensive line.

Zeitler is the third veteran offensive lineman signed by the Packers since Saturday. He joins Laken Tomlinson and Mekhi Becton in Green Bay. The front office is working hard to find solutions for an offensive line that struggled.

Experience and performance

The 36 year old guard brings plenty of experience to Green Bay. He was originally a first round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals back in 2012. Over his long career, he has appeared in 214 games.

Last season, Zeitler played for the Tennessee Titans on a one year contract. He quickly earned the starting right guard spot. Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi highly valued his presence, describing Zeitler as "one of the best guards in football" heading into the 2025 season.

During his time with the Titans, Zeitler was a steadying presence on the line. He played next to JC Latham, who made the switch from left tackle to right tackle in just his second NFL season. Zeitler ended up starting 16 games last season. He was on the field for 864 offensive snaps, which accounted for 92% of the Titans' total offensive plays.

In terms of blocking efficiency, Zeitler finished the year with a 92.2% pass block win rate. However, he did allow 10 sacks. In run blocking, he won 70% of his reps.

Dealing with injuries

Injuries did impact Zeitler's playing time during the 2025 season. He suffered a quadriceps injury in Week 18 when the Titans played against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In addition to the quadriceps issue, the veteran guard also had to deal with groin and biceps injuries. These physical setbacks cut into his overall playing time on the field last year.
