Forest miss chances in Portman Road draw

Nottingham Forest moved out of the relegation zone on Friday night after a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road. However, the result means Forest have now gone four matches without a win.

Neco Williams gave the visitors the lead in the first half when he volleyed home a high cross from Daniel Muñoz. Ipswich equalised four minutes before the break. Julio Enciso caught Nikola Milenkovic in possession and slotted the ball past Matz Sels.

Controversy over red card call

The major talking point happened early in the second half. Issa Diop brought down James McAtee as he ran towards the Ipswich goal in the 48th minute. The referee checked the screen and gave Diop a yellow card instead of a red.

Forest manager Oliver Glasner felt the decision was wrong but refused to blame the official. He stated that the referee followed the right procedure even if the call was incorrect. Glasner added that his team played a very dominant second half and created enough opportunities to win.

Midfielder Morgan Gibbs White also shared his frustration after the final whistle. He noted that Forest dominated the second half completely and deserved all three points based on their display.

Managers look ahead after tight battle

Forest have won just one of their last eight Premier League matches. Despite this poor run, Glasner remains calm about the direction of his team. He believes the squad is on the right path and that positive results will come soon if they keep up their confidence.

For Ipswich, the point lifted them up to ninth place in the table. Manager Gary O'Neil praised his team for digging deep to secure the draw. He said he was proud of his players for being safe and staying united until the end.
