Elanga Injury Update

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle is hoping for positive news regarding winger Anthony Elanga. The 24-year-old missed Monday's 4-1 defeat against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Jaissle confirmed that Elanga is undergoing an MRI scan to determine the extent of the damage. The manager hopes the injury is not too serious.

"We counted on him, definitely, and the way we want to play, it's a key strength in our squad," Jaissle said. He added that the team must stay positive and find other ways to play if Elanga is out for longer.

Growing Injury List

Newcastle face a growing list of absent players ahead of their match against Hull City at St James' Park. Jacob Murphy started on the right wing on Monday and might keep his place. Jaissle noted that Murphy is an experienced and intelligent player who knows exactly what is demanded of him.

However, options are limited. Full-back Amar Dedic is also ruled out for Saturday, meaning he cannot be pushed further up the pitch to help.

Midfielder Jacob Ramsey is another player set to miss the game. Jaissle confirmed he does not expect any of his currently injured players to make a return this weekend.

Gonzalez Out with Concussion

Nico Gonzalez will also miss the Hull City game. He was forced off in the 19th minute against Leeds after being hit in the head by the ball.

Jaissle explained that the blow knocked Gonzalez out, and the club is strictly following the league's concussion protocols.

The manager stated that while Gonzalez is feeling much better and could normally train, they must take the protocol seriously. Therefore, he will not play on Saturday.
