The Commissioner Weighs In

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has defended the travel habits of Philadelphia 76ers forward LeBron James. Speaking on a radio show on Tuesday, Silver explained that the helicopter James uses to commute from New York is completely fine.

Silver pointed out that the star has a deal with Fanatics, which supplies the transport. He stated there are no rules issues as long as the deal is strictly between the player and the company, with no team involvement.

Life in Philadelphia

After signing with the Sixers in free agency, James chose to live in New York. Other players have done the same in the past, including former coach JJ Reddick. Still, the daily helicopter flights have drawn plenty of attention.

During news conferences after practice, players often pause and laugh as the helicopter departs from the roof of the team business center. The noise often drowns out the sound inside the facility.

Moving On

James recently brushed off the added attention surrounding his daily travel method. He noted that he has done it before, calling it just another way of transportation.
