Mourinho confident in Madrid success
Jose Mourinho believes Real Madrid are on track to get results as they prepare to take on Barcelona at Camp Nou. Real Madrid currently sit six points behind their rivals in the league table after suffering defeats to Real Betis and Atletico Madrid earlier in the campaign.
Despite those early setbacks, Mourinho's side has found form recently. They hold a full winning record since the international break, having picked up victories against Villarreal, Roma, Sevilla, and RB Leipzig. During his previous spell in charge between 2010 and 2013, Mourinho won a LaLiga title, a Copa del Rey, and a Spanish Supercopa.
When asked if Sunday's game is a test of his team's true ability, Mourinho brushed off concerns. He insisted that Madrid with Mourinho wins trophies.
Team news and tactical approach
Barcelona have enjoyed a strong league campaign so far, winning nine out of nine matches in LaLiga. However, they were beaten 4-2 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League during midweek. Mourinho stated that recent European results will not impact El Clasico, calling it a match that makes the football loving world come to a standstill.
Mourinho pointed out that his team is far from the finished article. He explained that he is still analyzing the squad and defining their path in these early stages. He added that comparing his current group to a Barcelona team that has been together for two or three years is not fair.
Real Madrid will be without suspended winger Vinicius Junior for the trip. Barcelona will count on star winger Lamine Yamal. Mourinho acknowledged Yamal as a great player who deserves respect, but made it clear that Real Madrid will not change their structure or forget their identity for any player.
