Milwaukee Brewers Seek First World Series Title in Game 4 Against Tampa Bay Rays

Brewers On The Brink Of History

The Milwaukee Brewers are one victory away from winning the 2026 World Series. It would mark the very first title in the history of the franchise. Milwaukee put themselves in this dominant position after blowing past the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 on Monday night.

That victory was sparked by a massive fifth inning where Milwaukee scored eight runs. Now, the Brewers have a chance to complete a four game sweep on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field.

Pitching Strategy For Game 4

Dustin May takes the mound for Milwaukee in Game 4, while Griffin Jax gets the start for Tampa Bay. The Brewers plan to rely heavily on their bullpen for this matchup. Manager Pat Murphy has his main relief pitchers fully rested with at least two days of break, giving him plenty of options to strategic deploy against Tampa Bay batters.

Milwaukee has been sharp in every phase of the game so far. If their hitters can chase Jax early, Tampa Bay may struggle, as their bullpen has not shown an ability to slow down the Milwaukee attack.

Rays Lineup Changes To Stay Alive

Tampa Bay faces a massive challenge to keep their season going. No team in baseball history has ever recovered from a 3-0 deficit in the World Series. However, the Rays can take confidence from their 98 regular season wins and their strong run through the American League playoffs.

The Rays are making changes to their starting order for Game 4. Jonathan Aranda and Liam Hicks return after sitting out Game 3 due to platoon reasons. The lineup features Yandy Diaz as designated hitter, Aranda at first base, Junior Caminero at third base, Hicks catching, and Jonny DeLuca in center field. Chandler Simpson, Ryan Vilade, Richie Palacios, and Taylor Walls complete the field.

What Is At Stake At Tropicana Field

Game 4 is set for 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field. Milwaukee aims to finish off a clean sweep and celebrate their first championship. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay must focus on getting 27 outs to force a Game 5 and keep their postseason hopes alive.
