Arteta commits to long term stay
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has officially signed a new contract to extend his stay with the Premier League champions until 2030. The Spanish manager was entering the final months of his previous deal, which was set to expire at the end of this current season.
This new four-year agreement secures his position at the club for the foreseeable future. Along with Arteta, his entire coaching staff have also signed new contracts to remain at Arsenal for the next four years.
A record of success in London
Arteta first arrived at Arsenal as head coach in December 2019. He took the job after working as an assistant manager under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Today, he stands as the longest-serving manager in the Premier League.
During his tenure, he has brought major trophies back to North London. He won the FA Cup in 2020. Last season, he guided the club to their first Premier League title in 23 years.
Speaking about his new deal, Arteta expressed his pride in staying with the club. He said it is a privilege to commit his future to Arsenal and to continue working with people who want the best for the team. He added that they have built a special bond and created memories that will last forever, saying this is only the beginning of what they can achieve together.
Arsenal co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke also shared their excitement. They stated that last season was an incredible moment in Arsenal's history. They added that they are proud of everything achieved since 2019 and are determined to create more memories in the future.
