Sesko injury blow

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed there is no timeline for Benjamin Sesko to return to action. The striker suffered a second shin injury, which forced him to withdraw from international duty with Slovenia.

Sesko also missed the 1-1 draw with Fulham before the international break. He is currently recovering from a similar problem that sidelined him for three months during the summer. Carrick spoke to reporters on Friday about the situation.

What the manager said

Carrick explained that the current problem is in a similar area to the previous summer injury, but not the exact same thing. The club is still working through the issue to determine the recovery time. Carrick stated that everyone hopes Sesko will be back soon, but the exact return date remains unclear at this moment.

The forward will definitely miss the upcoming match against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

More team news

Other players are also dealing with fitness issues following the international break. Patrick Dorgu will be out for a number of weeks after picking up a hamstring injury while playing for Denmark. Noussair Mazraoui is a doubt to face Spurs after taking a knock.

On the positive side, Carlos Baleba could feature for the first time following his summer transfer from Brighton. Meanwhile, Amad, Marcus Rashford, and Kobbie Mainoo have all returned to a little bit of training with the group.
