Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons is back at practice after a knee injury, but he is taking his recovery one day at a time.

Back on the field

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons returned to practice on Wednesday. It was his first session since tearing his ACL and meniscus last December during a Week 14 match against the Broncos.

The injury kept him off the field for 324 days, including nearly two months on crutches following surgery. The Packers have now opened a 21 day practice window for him while he remains on the physically unable to perform list. That three week period ends right around Green Bay's Thanksgiving Eve game against the Los Angeles Rams.

No set return date

Despite getting back to practice, Parsons is not putting a firm date on his match return. Even his family members have asked if they should book flights to see him play, but he advised them to wait or buy flexible tickets.

Parsons explained that he wants to stack 20 good days of practice before deciding how he feels on the 21st day. Packers coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Parsons has been cleared for full speed in his limited drills, but noted the team is taking his progress one day at a time.

Step by step progress

Parsons was limited to individual drills on Wednesday. He did not take part in team reps and will not participate in 11 on 11 work until next week at the earliest.

He admitted that his fitness is currently at the lowest point of his career, but he expects to build up his conditioning over the next 21 days. He said fans will see him play hard and help the defense, even if it takes time to reach his top form again.

Key defensive impact

Green Bay acquired Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys in a trade before the 2025 season. He made an instant impact, recording 12.5 sacks and leading the league with 64 quarterback pressures in 14 games before his injury.

His return to action will give the Packers defense a strong lift once he is cleared for match play.
