The Cycling Controversy

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has caused a stir after sharing a video of himself riding a bicycle on social media. The post comes just days after his manager, Jose Mourinho, warned players about the dangers of cycling.

Mbappe posted the short clip on his Instagram story on Sunday. The video shows him smiling and wearing a helmet while cycling on a country road. It featured the song "The Good Guys, The Bad Guys" by Michel Fugain. French media believe the post is a message to his critics.

Mourinho's Strict Rules

Last month, Mourinho made it clear that football stars must avoid activities like cycling to prevent injuries. Speaking on the Bet It Drives show, Mourinho explained that players must think about their jobs at all times.

Mourinho said that players are footballers 24 hours a day. He added, "You cannot ski. You cannot ride a bike. You fall off your bike, and you don't play three matches maybe, or maybe worse, maybe you break a leg."

Mbappe is currently recovering from a hyperextended left knee. He picked up the injury playing for France against Türkiye on September 25.

Madrid's Current Situation

The French forward has scored seven goals in seven league matches for Real Madrid this season. Despite his strong start, Madrid are already six points behind Barcelona in the league table.

His injury makes him a doubt for the upcoming match against Villarreal this Saturday. However, he should be ready to face Barcelona on October 25. This is not the first time Mbappe has faced criticism during an injury. Last season, fans complained when he was seen on a yacht while recovering from a hamstring injury.
