Miller back in action

San Diego Padres closer Mason Miller has returned to the team roster ahead of a massive Game 4 against the Milwaukee Brewers. Miller was placed on the paternity list on Tuesday to witness the birth of his first child. He now replaces left handed reliever Wandy Peralta on the roster.

The Padres are currently trailing two games to one in this best of five National League Division Series. Having their star closer back is a massive boost as they fight to avoid elimination. Padres manager Craig Stammen confirmed the good news, saying, "Everything went well so far with him and his wife."

Pitching updates and bullpen health

Walker Buehler will start on the mound for the Padres on Wednesday, facing Milwaukee left hander Robert Gasser. Buehler will be on a short leash, meaning the bullpen will need to be ready early.

There are still questions about setup man Adrian Morejon. Morejon felt stiffness in his throwing shoulder on Monday and did not pitch on Tuesday. Stammen mentioned that Morejon felt better after Tuesday's game, and the team hopes he can play. A final decision will be made after he plays catch and talks with the medical staff.

Meanwhile, Padres ace Michael King is expected to be ready if needed. King threw 40 pitches over two innings to help secure a 4-3 win on Tuesday. Despite the heavy workload, Stammen is ready to use him again. The manager explained that they will use everyone they can. Stammen said, "There is no tomorrow if we don't win tonight."
