Quick debut in London
Newly acquired wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday. Houston coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed this plan on Wednesday.
It is a fast turnaround for Harrison. He just arrived in Houston on Monday after passing his physical and practicing with the team for the first time on Wednesday.
Reuniting with Stroud
The Texans sent 2027 second and seventh round picks to the Arizona Cardinals to get Harrison. They also received a 2027 sixth round selection in the deal.
Harrison joins a 1-4 Houston team after a slow start in Arizona where he had five catches for 85 yards and a touchdown this season. He now reunites with his old college quarterback C.J. Stroud. They played together at Ohio State in 2021 and 2022.
Harrison described the move as a great situation. He wants to take accountability for his time in Arizona while looking forward to the future.
Learning the playbook
Coach Ryans is not worried about Harrison learning the playbook quickly. Harrison spent his first night in Houston working late with assistant wide receiver coach Tiquan Underwood.
Stroud is also confident about the partnership. He noted that Harrison is a smart player and they will work hard to get back on the same page.
