Manchester United target Branthwaite
Manchester United are planning big changes to their defense and have made Everton center back Jarrad Branthwaite a top target. The 24 year old defender remains high on their list after they had an offer worth 45 million pounds rejected in 2024. Liverpool are also interested in Branthwaite, but Everton may be reluctant to let him join a local rival.
United could also see movement in attack. Young forward J.J. Gabriel, who is 16 years old, is attracting interest from Paris Saint Germain. Real Madrid remain favourites for his signature, but discussions between his team and several European clubs are still going on.
Striker targets and contract talks
Chelsea and Manchester City both sent scouts to watch Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi on Sunday. The 22 year old scored three goals in a 3-2 win over Sint Truidense, taking his total to 12 goals in 14 matches across all competitions. City view him as a potential long term replacement for Erling Haaland, while Chelsea want him as cover for Joao Pedro.
In Italy, Inter Milan have agreed a two year contract extension with wing back Federico Dimarco to keep the 28 year old until 2028. However, both sides are still apart on salary. Dimarco wants 7.5 million Euros per season, but Inter are not ready to pay that amount. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are watching Manchester City attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki and Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.
Coaching options and player interest
Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe would be open to holding talks with Manchester United if an opportunity comes up. Elsewhere, Crystal Palace have put former Nottingham Forest head coach Sean Dyche on their shortlist if they decide to split with Pierre Sage.
Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford is attracting attention from Everton, Napoli, and Tottenham Hotspur. Over in Serie A, Juventus are looking to sell left back Juan Cabal when the January transfer window opens.
