City Take Derby Spoils
Manchester United will be wondering how they came away with nothing from the derby on Sunday. They lost 1-0 to Manchester City. The biggest disappointment for United is that they had a man advantage for a large part of the game. Despite playing against ten men for much of the match, United could not break through City's defence or find the back of the net. It was a major missed opportunity to take points off their local rivals.
The bad news for the club did not stop there. In the Women's Super League, Manchester United's women team also had a terrible day on the pitch. They suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat against Chelsea, making it a truly miserable weekend to forget for the red side of Manchester.
Brighton Cruising and European Results
For newly promoted Coventry City, the tough start to life in the Premier League continues. They are still searching for their first win of the season after a brutal 5-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion. Brighton were in complete control of the match, leaving Coventry with plenty of work to do to find their footing in the division.
In Spain's LaLiga, Barcelona had a productive outing as they defeated Levante 4-2. Over in the German Bundesliga, minnows SV Elversberg gave a good account of themselves but they eventually fell 2-1 to Bayern Munich.
