Old Trafford defense under scrutiny
Manchester United are thinking about refreshing their back line. Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Lisandro Martínez are playing for their futures at the club, with their contracts expiring next summer. United are not rushing to make a final decision on the three senior defenders. However, plans are being considered for potential defensive signings, especially at center back and left back.
Lisandro Martínez has caught the attention of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. United hold an option to extend his stay by an extra year. United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United have also been watching AS Roma defender Wesley. The 23 year old Brazilian is valued between 50 million and 60 million euros.
Attackers and midfielders on the radar
Arsenal have placed a 55 million pound price tag on striker Viktor Gyökeres should he leave within the next year. That matches the initial fee paid to Sporting CP last summer. Clubs in Spain, Italy, and England are following the 28 year old after a slow start to the campaign. Arsenal are also watching 21 year old Monza striker Gustavo Varela, who has scored eight goals in seven games across all competitions.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are interested in Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari, whose contract negotiations with his current club have stalled. Liverpool are in no rush to offer Alexis Mac Allister a new contract, even though the midfielder expressed disappointment about the situation earlier this season. In Croatia, Everton are eyeing Dinamo Zagreb striker Dion Beljo, who has netted 15 goals in 15 matches.
