English Giants Target Benfica Defender
Manchester United and Chelsea are looking to strengthen their defensive options. Both clubs are currently tracking Benfica defender Tomás Araújo. The 24 year old, who can play as a center back or a right back, has caught the attention of several English teams.
Araújo recently signed a contract extension with the Portuguese club until 2031. This long term deal makes a transfer in the upcoming January window highly unlikely. However, interested clubs could still try to trigger his release clause, which is set at £68 million.
Sancho Patient Over Next Move
Meanwhile, former Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is in no rush to find a new team. The winger is currently a free agent after his contract at Old Trafford ended in the summer.
Sancho is willing to wait until the January transfer window to make a decision on his future. He will only sign if the right offer comes along before then. Although he has been linked with several clubs, no advanced talks have taken place yet.
Other Major Transfer Rumours
In other news, Juventus is planning a major squad rebuild. The Italian side is looking at Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who could leave Anfield at the end of the season. They are also tracking Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell and forward Jean Philippe Mateta.
Over in Spain, João Félix is hoping to return to Barcelona when his contract with Al Nassr expires next year. The 27 year old forward previously scored 10 goals in 44 games for Barcelona during a loan spell.
