Injury blows hit the Reds

Liverpool are set to be without Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash with LASK. All three players missed the Reds' 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday after sustaining injuries during the international break.

Fitness struggles for the trio

Isak and Gakpo both had to withdraw from international duty with a thigh injury and an ankle injury respectively. Meanwhile, Szoboszlai returned from the Hungary camp with a tight hamstring. The trio have all failed to recover in time for Wednesday's clash at Raiffeisen Arena and are not part of Liverpool's 23-player travelling party to Austria.

Speaking about Szoboszlai's fitness at the weekend, Iraola said that Dom came from the national team with tightness and an overload. The boss added that they tried to protect him, but a busy schedule makes recovery difficult with four games in 10 days. The Liverpool manager is expected to give a further update on the players' fitness in his prematch news conference on Tuesday.
