Strong display against Sunderland

Leeds manager Daniel Farke praised James Trafford after a solid display in a 0-0 draw against Sunderland. The 24-year-old goalkeeper twice denied Black Cats striker Brian Brobbey in the first half. He was called into action again after the break to stop Nilson Angulo.

Trafford joined Leeds from Manchester City over the summer. Farke was impressed as the Yorkshire side secured a clean sheet in a difficult away game.

Praise from the manager

Farke spoke about the goalkeeper after the match. He stated that Trafford showed why the club was so desperate to sign him.

Farke said, I wouldn't say there was an unbelievable, world class save, but several good saves and he has shown also today why we were so desperate to sign him. Farke added that Trafford's natural belief, skills, aura, and confidence inspire the players in front of him.

Future with England

The Leeds boss expects high standards from his goalkeeper. Farke noted that Trafford is the most promising young goalkeeper in the UK.

Farke believes the player has all the potential to be England's number one one day. However, he stressed that Trafford must keep going and show this capability with consistency.
