A tough start to the season
Tottenham have struggled at the start of the new Premier League campaign. They have only picked up two points from five league matches and sit at the bottom of the table. A recent 3-2 loss at home to Aston Villa on Sept. 19 added to the pressure. Supporters and club officials expected much more after a summer of heavy spending following two successive 17th-placed finishes.
Drawing on past survival
Roberto De Zerbi arrived in north London in March to save the club from relegation. Confidence was very low at the time, but he helped the team secure safety after a long winless run in the division. Former club captain Ledley King believes the squad must remember that tough period as they prepare to face Manchester United on Saturday.
King remains confident
King spoke at a recent Hall of Fame event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after being inducted alongside three other figures. He received a warm welcome from the fans during the match against Aston Villa.
King said that the team must keep working hard on the training pitch. He stated that confidence is the main issue and believes one positive result can change everything quickly.
