Strong start in Detroit

The Philadelphia 76ers continued their impressive form with a 112-106 victory against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. The win avenged Philadelphia's only defeat of the season so far. It takes their overall record to 8-1 and keeps them perfect away from home.

This is the first time since the 2000-01 season that the Sixers have started 4-0 on the road. Over the last 50 seasons, this is only the fifth time the team has achieved a 4-0 road start. In all four previous instances, Philadelphia went on to reach the NBA Finals.

LeBron plays down title talk

Despite the strong start, LeBron James believes fans should not get carried away. The veteran star noted that it is far too early in the year to think about titles.

"It's too early to be talking about the Finals and things of that nature on November 4th," James said after the game. He added that the team has a good vibe and that players enjoy being around each other.

In the past, every time a James-led team started at least 7-1, they reached the NBA Finals. James acknowledged that those past teams showed consistency every day. He explained that early on, he sees similar qualities in this Philadelphia group. Head coach Nick Nurse agreed with James, stating that it is simply too early to look at long term results.

Star performances and injury concerns

Jaylen Brown led the scoring for Philadelphia with a season-high 30 points. He also delivered a late block on Pistons guard Cade Cunningham. Joel Embiid was equally impactful, posting 26 points and 15 rebounds. James contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.

However, the victory brought a couple of injury concerns. Point guard Tyrese Maxey hurt his right pinky finger while splitting a double team in the closing seconds. He was seen with a swollen finger after the game but insisted he will be fine.

Center Adem Bona left in the fourth quarter with a neck injury. Coach Nurse said Bona seemed fine, with an official update expected on Thursday. The Sixers now prepare to visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
