Jackson Forced Out With Ankle Injury

The Baltimore Ravens suffered a major blow as quarterback Lamar Jackson did not play in the second half of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans after hurting his ankle. The injury happened on the very last offensive play before halftime when Jackson was sacked from behind.

It appeared that Titans defensive end Jermaine Johnson II landed on the side of Jackson's left ankle during the play. The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player limped off the field to the sideline. The Ravens officially announced Jackson as questionable to return to the game. Although he did not get back on the field, he remained on the sideline in uniform for the rest of the match.

Stellar First Half Cut Short

Before the injury, Jackson was having a stellar performance for Baltimore. He completed 15 of his 20 passes, which is an impressive 75% completion rate. He threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns in just the first half of the game. This performance marked the fourth-most passing yards he has ever recorded in the first half of a game during his NFL career.

Huntley Steps In Amid Mounting Injuries

With Jackson out of action, backup quarterback Tyler Huntley took over the offense for the second half. Huntley has a good track record as a backup starter for Baltimore. Last season, Huntley went 2-0 as a fill-in starter, leading the team to victories over two playoff teams, the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.

This game proved to be highly costly for Baltimore on the injury front. Apart from Jackson, the Ravens ruled out three other players due to injuries. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey was ruled out with a calf injury, right guard Andrew Vorhees was sidelined with a foot injury, and tight end Durham Smythe was ruled out with an Achilles injury.
