Big boost as Kulusevski returns
Dejan Kulusevski is finally back in the Tottenham Hotspur matchday squad for Monday night's match against Coventry City. The Swedish attacker has missed 526 days due to a serious knee injury, having needed a second procedure on his patella in March. His long absence meant he missed Spurs winning the Europa League in 2025, the entire last season, and the summer World Cup.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the medical team gave the green light for Kulusevski to start on the bench. De Zerbi said it was great news after a hard time for the 26 year old player. He added that Kulusevski suffered too much and deserves to feel emotion on the pitch again.
Fresh injury blows for bottom side Spurs
Spurs are currently bottom of the Premier League table after a winless start in their opening six matches. They spent most of this week at a warm weather training camp in Marbella to prepare for Coventry, but fresh injuries hit the team.
Sávio felt a muscular problem on Tuesday before the squad left for Spain and will be out for some weeks. Lucas Bergvall suffered a knee problem early in the game against Manchester United and is out for two weeks. With Rodrigo Bentancur suspended, Tottenham will miss seven players for Monday night.
There is some good news for defense, as right back Pedro Porro could be available for next Saturday's trip to Chelsea. Meanwhile, striker Richarlison remains outside the 25 man Premier League squad after a difficult transfer window. He played and scored for Tottenham Under 21s in a match against Cheltenham on Tuesday. When asked about Richarlison sharing a critic's social media post on Saturday, De Zerbi stated it was no longer his problem to manage.
