Frustrations Boiling Over

Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson has called on his team to fix their offensive struggles as soon as possible. Speaking on Thursday for the first time since a 19-15 loss to the Detroit Lions, Jefferson made it clear that the current performance is not good enough.

The star wideout showed his exasperation during Sunday's defeat when quarterback Kyler Murray missed open receivers. Jefferson left without talking to reporters after that game, but he broke his silence ahead of Week 9.

He said the team has to figure out the answer fast. He added that the players have a lot of talent, but they are wasting it by failing to execute plays properly.

Poor Offensive Numbers

The numbers show why Jefferson is worried. Entering Week 9, Minnesota ranks 27th in the NFL in expected points added with minus 33.45. They are also 27th in offensive points per game at 19, and 29th in yards per game at 279.4.

Jefferson himself has only caught 28 passes for 335 yards so far this season. That is well below the numbers put up by the top receivers in the league.

Backup Quarterback Takes Over

Changes are coming for Monday night's game against the Buffalo Bills. Murray was ruled out on Wednesday due to a strained hamstring. Backup Carson Wentz will start in his place.

Despite the frustration in Detroit, Jefferson offered strong support for Murray. He said he has faith in Murray and believes the quarterback is still growing into the offense. He noted that the team sees Murray make great plays every day in practice and training camp, so they remain fully behind him.

Eyeing The Postseason

Jefferson is currently in his seventh season with Minnesota, and he has yet to win a playoff game. The Vikings have built a solid 6-1 record so far, but Jefferson knows that record might not matter if the offense stays cold.

He warned that the team needs to solve these issues before reaching the postseason. Otherwise, he said, they will end up looking back on what could have been.
