Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert showed a rare flash of anger when asked about his team's leadership. The Chargers have started the season with two straight losses, sparking questions about whether the team needs more vocal leaders.

Herbert shut down the questions quickly. He said he does not think there is a lack of vocal leadership at all, calling it very present. He added that nobody in the team is panicking or worried, and that they just need to focus on fixing their mistakes and moving on to the next play.

A rough start for the offense

The Chargers are off to a surprising start after losing their first two games to the Las Vegas Raiders and the Arizona Cardinals. These two teams had the first and third picks in the draft last season, making the losses even tougher to swallow.

The offense was expected to be one of the best in the league under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, but it has struggled. During a 26-14 loss to the Raiders, Herbert was seen slamming his fists and shouting at his teammates after a late snap hit wide receiver Tre' Harris on the legs.

Herbert has not talked directly about that outburst, saying only that he is focused on the next play.

Harbaugh defends his star

Head coach Jim Harbaugh defended Herbert and blamed the offense's struggles on growing pains. Harbaugh said he felt the team was letting their quarterback down.

He pointed to two interceptions thrown by Herbert against the Raiders, both caught by cornerback Hezekiah Masses. Harbaugh explained that one was bobbled by tight end David Njoku, while the other happened because wide receiver Derius Davis ran the wrong route.

Harbaugh made it clear he still has full faith in his quarterback, saying, 'I wouldn't change anything about Justin.'
