More allegations emerge against Josh Jacobs
Police records released on Friday night reveal that three more women came forward with abuse allegations against Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs. The allegations surfaced while officers investigated his May arrest involving his former girlfriend.
Jacobs pleaded no contest on Sept. 10 to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property. He was originally arrested on May 26 after a May 23 incident where a woman said he threw her to the ground. The newly released police evidence details similar accounts from other women who contacted authorities after that arrest.
Specific claims detailed in police files
One woman told police about an incident from Jan. 5, 2022. She said Jacobs slapped her face, grabbed her hair, threw her on a bed and floor, and spit on her after she told him she did not want to have sex. She stated he threw her phone into a swimming pool and said, "I should kill you right now." She did not report it at the time because she feared people would not believe her.
A second woman reported an April 2021 encounter where Jacobs pushed her against a wall and threw her items out after an argument. Police noted that past records from that day showed no visible injuries. A third woman said Jacobs flew her to a residence in May 2022, grabbed her hair and neck, dragged her, and took her phone. She said she did not go to police then because she was not a U.S. citizen and feared deportation.
May incident details and current NFL status
The released files also provided extra details about the May 23 incident. The woman involved told police that Jacobs pinned her to a bed with his weight, covering her mouth and nose so she could not breathe. She also believed she briefly lost consciousness in a garage before he threw her down and took her phone.
Jacobs is a three time Pro Bowl running back. The NFL placed him on the commissioner exempt list in August after charges were filed, causing him to miss the Packers first six games. He has since played two games after being taken off the list. The league is still investigating the May incident, which means he could still face further discipline.
