Eager For Clarity
Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor says he is anxious for a conclusion as trade rumors build. Multiple teams are currently discussing potential deals with Indianapolis ahead of the deadline at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Taylor explained that no one enjoys living with uncertainty. He noted that while speculation has been constant over recent weeks, players will only know the verdict once the deadline arrives.
Managing The Noise
The 27 year old running back acknowledged that staying completely away from media coverage is difficult. He pointed out that social media and the internet make trade rumors hard to avoid.
To manage the situation, Taylor tries to limit his time online to basic tasks or marketing duties before logging off. He stated that players cannot let external factors creep in and alter their play on the field.
Indianapolis Rebuilding The Roster
Indianapolis has struggled this season, holding a record of two wins and six losses. The franchise started a rebuild last month by firing general manager Chris Ballard.
A week after Ballard left, the team traded away guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. The Colts are now looking to collect future draft picks. Taylor, who is the team career rushing touchdown leader and ranks second in overall rushing yards behind Edgerrin James, has become a trade target alongside wide receiver Josh Downs.
Ready For Sunday Clash
Indianapolis enters Sunday's home fixture against the Dallas Cowboys following a heavy 42-7 loss to Jacksonville last week. Taylor had a quiet game, managing only 23 rushing yards on eight carries before sitting out the fourth quarter due to the deficit.
Head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that Taylor will play against Dallas, and Taylor verified his intent to take the field. While Sunday could be his last game in a Colts uniform, he remains focused on securing a victory.
