False practice rumors

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid spoke out about a recent report involving LeBron James. The report claimed that James got on Embiid for being late to a practice session. Embiid stated that the story never happened and wondered why he was targeted by outside scrutiny.

During a broadcast of a game against the New York Knicks, announcer Mike Breen shared the story on air. Breen later apologized for the comments. LeBron James also labeled the report as lies on social media.

Embiid made his comments after making his preseason debut in a 114-108 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. He noted that the team must focus on themselves and ignore outside noise.

Preseason struggles

During the game against the Nets, Embiid struggled on the court. He scored 8 points on 1-for-5 shooting in 24 minutes of action.

He also recorded three rebounds, three assists, and eight turnovers. Embiid admitted that he needs to do a better job of taking care of the ball.

He added that his first few games every year are usually like this and it will take a few matches to get going properly.
