Rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq is shining for the New York Jets amidst a wave of offensive injuries as they prepare to face the Chicago Bears.

Sadiq's Rapid Rise

The New York Jets raised eyebrows when they drafted tight end Kenyon Sadiq with the 16th overall pick. Just one year after drafting a tight end in the second round, many critics called Sadiq a luxury pick. However, it took just three games for the former Oregon star to become a necessity for the team.

With key offensive players like Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell, and Mason Taylor out of the lineup, Sadiq has stepped up. Standing at 6 foot 3 and weighing 241 pounds, his speed is incredible. He runs a sub 4.4 second 40 yard dash. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson called the rookie "uncoverable."

Last week, Sadiq recorded seven catches for 105 yards and scored his first NFL receiving touchdown. He already had a rushing touchdown in Week 1. Defenses are struggling to stop him, using linebackers, safeties, and cornerbacks to try and slow him down.

Changes and Challenges for the Jets

The Jets are facing other major adjustments. For the first time in 21 games, they will have a different starting offensive line. Left guard Dylan Parham is sidelined with a knee injury. Jordan Meredith is expected to replace him.

On defense, edge rusher Will McDonald IV is seeing less playing time. He played 61 percent of defensive snaps last year but is down to 41 percent this season. Joseph Ossai's return has created a crowded five man rotation. This has sparked rumors that McDonald could be traded before the November 10 deadline.

Head coach Aaron Glenn is also under pressure. He has won only four of his first 20 games. History shows that turning things around after such a start is very difficult, meaning the Jets need to start winning immediately.
