More injury woes for the Jets

The New York Jets will miss two of their top playmakers Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell were ruled out Friday by coach Aaron Glenn. Neither player practiced this week.

This will be Hall's second consecutive missed game with a quadriceps injury, and Mitchell's third game out due to a finger injury. Left guard Dylan Parham will also miss his second straight game with a knee injury.

Trying to bounce back

The timing is tough because the Jets are coming off a poor performance in a 23-12 loss to the Chicago Bears. The Bears ran 34 first downs while the Jets managed only 32 total plays in the entire game. Quarterback Geno Smith attempted just 15 passes, and the offense failed to convert any third downs.

Offensive coordinator Frank Reich took responsibility for the lack of third down efficiency. Braelon Allen will start again in place of Hall. Allen rushed 14 times for 59 yards against Chicago. The Jets did get some positive news as tight end Mason Taylor returns from a thumb injury.
