No beef, just lamb chops
Jaylen Brown scored 27 points on his 30th birthday to help the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 127-116 on Saturday.
After the win, Brown addressed his relationship with former Boston Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum. Brown said there is no beef between them, but added that there might be a little lamb chops and gravy. He advised Tatum to stay ready at all times.
Tension after a title partnership
The pair played nine seasons together in Boston, reaching five Eastern Conference finals and winning the 2024 NBA championship against the Dallas Mavericks. However, their relationship has looked strained recently.
Tatum posted a video claiming he was caught off guard by the trade that sent Brown to Philadelphia for Paul George and four draft picks. Brown responded on social media with a cap emoji, which is slang for lying. On Friday, Tatum said he was open to talking things out, but Brown sounded uninterested, noting that both players have their own teams to focus on now. He also joked that Tatum has a great public relations team.
First meeting set for November
During a preseason match two weeks ago, the two players worked out on opposite sides of the court and did not acknowledge each other. They will face each other on the court for the first time this season on November 10 in Philadelphia.
Brown led Boston to 56 wins last season while averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He stepped up while Tatum missed most of the year with an Achilles rupture. Now, both stars move forward on different paths.
