Trade Talk and Tough Times

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is facing plenty of chatter about his future with the team. Trade rumors have surfaced following some quiet performances on the field, but the third year player insists he is not worried.

Thomas addressed reporters on Wednesday and explained that he prefers to tune out the noise. He earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie, but his recent production has dipped and critics have suggested a change of scenery might help.

Putting London Behind Him

The trade speculation grew louder after the Jaguars lost 34-31 to the Houston Texans in London on Oct. 18. Thomas dropped a pass and failed to secure another catchable ball in the first half before sitting out the entire second half.

Thomas admitted he wants to flush that game from his memory and move forward. He noted that everyone faces adversity and the only way through it is to keep fighting and working hard at practice.

Coach Backs the Receiver

Despite having only nine catches for 105 yards and a touchdown across six games this season, head coach Liam Coen still views the receiver as a major part of the offense. Coen pointed out that every player goes through ups and downs and expects him to make plays in the next game against the Colts.

General manager James Gladstone previously shut down similar trade speculation before free agency by calling related reports fraudulent. Thomas continues to stay focused on blocking, doing the little things right, and staying in the middle emotionally without getting too high or too low.
