Rain and turnovers shape the match
The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Baltimore Ravens 33-10 on Thursday night at M&T Bank Stadium. The game featured intermittent heavy rain, marking the third consecutive game the Jaguars have played in wet conditions. Cam Little tied his career high with four field goals for Jacksonville, while the defense intercepted rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano twice. The Jaguars forced three turnovers, marking the ninth time they have achieved that feat since the start of last season.
With this win, the Jaguars improved to a 6-2 record and surpassed 30 points for the fifth time this season. Wideout Parker Washington contributed a 50-yard touchdown catch and run in the second quarter. This marked the eleventh offensive touchdown of at least 20 yards for Jacksonville this season.
Ravens struggle without starting quarterback
Baltimore played without Lamar Jackson, who was placed on injured reserve with a right thumb injury and will miss at least the next three games. Tyler Huntley was also out with turf toe, leaving undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano to make his first start. Fagnano completed 10 of 18 passes for 60 yards and two interceptions as the Baltimore offense struggled.
The defeat marks the fourth consecutive loss for Baltimore, and their third straight loss by 20 or more points. This is the first time such a streak has occurred in the 31-year history of the franchise. First-year head coach Jesse Minter and the team have now been held under 14 points in three straight games, which is another team record.
Offensive weapons and upcoming fixtures
Baltimore attempted to use creative strategies, including running back Derrick Henry in the Wildcat formation. However, wide receiver Zay Flowers was limited to six yards on three catches due to the limited passing attack. The Ravens also continued a season-long issue with discipline, committing three false starts in the first half from Ronnie Stanley, Mark Andrews, and Ja'Kobi Lane.
Looking ahead, the Jacksonville Jaguars will prepare to face the Tennessee Titans on November 15. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens are expected to finalize a trade for veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett over the weekend before hosting the Los Angeles Chargers on November 16.
