Historic Performance in Game 3

Jackson Chourio delivered a standout performance in Game 3 of the World Series. The 22 year old collected four hits in a 10-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Milwaukee finished the game with 16 hits total. With that effort, Chourio became the first 22 year old player in 80 years to get four hits in a World Series game.

The Milwaukee Brewers are now close to securing the first championship in their 57 year franchise history. Chourio has already gathered eight hits across the first three games of the series. During the fifth inning of Game 3, Milwaukee scored eight two out runs. Chourio started that rally with a hit up the middle and closed it with a double to right center field.

Rise to Stardom

Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold signed Chourio out of Venezuela as a 16 year old in 2021. Arnold said that Chourio is turning into a superstar right in front of their eyes. Team captain Christian Yelich added that the young player likes the moment and has a slow heartbeat.

His strong play in October began with a multi hit playoff debut in 2024. He followed that with a strong performance in the 2025 division series. His 2026 postseason includes catching a Ty France fly ball and hitting a walk off single against closer Mason Miller. Field coordinator Néstor Corredor helped him stay calm after he showed some anxiety against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Corredor noted that Chourio now understands he has a full team behind him.

Better in Big Moments

Chourio has performed better in the playoffs than in the regular season. From 2024 to 2026, he became the first player under 23 to put up three straight 20 homer and 20 steal seasons. His regular season OPS in that stretch was .799, but his postseason OPS jumped to .882. Backup catcher Gary Sánchez said Chourio seems to like these big moments even more than regular games.

His father named him Jackson Bryan Chourio after basketball legend Kobe Bryant, while his brother Jaison Oneel was named after Shaquille O'Neal. Chourio read parts of Bryant's book to learn from the Lakers legend. Chourio stated that he knows how hard he has worked, adding that it is gratifying to see everything working out well.
