Colts Suffer Big Injury Blow in London
The Indianapolis Colts have received bad news ahead of their upcoming game in London against the Washington Commanders. Wide receiver Keenan Allen has been ruled out of the Sunday matchup after suffering a groin injury.
Allen was unable to practice on Friday after the groin issue developed over the last few days. His absence is a major setback for the team's offense. Allen has recorded 13 catches for 100 yards in three games this season, placing him second on the team in receiving yards behind Josh Downs.
Receiving Corps Stretched Thin
Allen's injury makes things even more difficult for the Colts at the receiver position. The team is already playing without their top target, Alec Pierce, who is sidelined with a heel injury. Pierce remains on injured reserve for an undetermined amount of time and must miss at least three more games before he can return to the field.
To fill the gap left by Allen, Indianapolis has promoted veteran Nick Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad. The Colts are also hoping that backup receiver Ashton Dulin can return from an ankle injury that kept him out for the last two weeks. Dulin was able to participate fully in Friday's practice session in London.
