New Front Office Face

The Indiana Fever have a new assistant general manager. Sheri Sam joins the WNBA franchise after working as the scouting manager for the Portland Trail Blazers since 2022. Her work in Portland involved evaluating collegiate and professional players. The team had planned to invest more in scouting and analytics, and bringing in Sam is part of that plan.

A Rich Playing Background

Sam brings plenty of experience from her playing days. She spent 10 years in the WNBA. During her career, she won championships with Seattle in 2004 and with Detroit in 2008. Indiana is making these changes following a season where the team finished with a 28-16 regular season record and earned the No. 6 seed for the third consecutive year. The team eventually lost to the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the playoffs.

Front Office Changes

The franchise is currently without a team president and general manager. Kelly Krauskopf stepped down, and Amber Cox was fired recently. Bringing in Sam adds experience to the leadership group while the team works through these other departures.
