A proud moment at the Allianz Arena

Harry Kane showed his Ballon d'Or to the fans at the Allianz Arena before Bayern Munich played Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. This was his first appearance in front of the home supporters since winning the trophy. He walked onto the pitch with his wife Katie and his four children. Both sets of players applauded him while the music played over the stadium speakers.

A golden banner with his image was placed in the centre circle. Giant graphics also appeared on the video screen and the advertising boards. The stadium announcer introduced him as the best footballer in the world.

Joining a legendary group

Kane spoke to the crowd during the special ceremony. He said he was extremely proud to be a Bayern player and hoped they would win many more titles together.

Earlier in the week, he received a guard of honour from his teammates before a German Cup match against FC Magdeburg. He did not play in that game, but the team won 5-1.

On Monday, he became the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the award. He scored 73 goals for club and country during the 2025-26 season. He also beat players like Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to take the prize. He is now the fourth Bayern player to win it, following Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller, and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Action on the pitch

Saturday's big match started with both teams level on 17 points at the top of the Bundesliga table. Borussia Dortmund saw an early goal by Jobe Bellingham ruled out by VAR. Konrad Laimer then scored in the first half to put Bayern 1-0 up at the break.
