A Long Wait Ends in London
Back in 2017, Harry Kane stood near the exit of the London Palladium after attending a soccer awards show where Cristiano Ronaldo took the top prize. Kane watched the winners on stage and dreamed of joining them one day. On Monday, at the same West End venue near his birthplace, he finally sat among the elite and took home the main prize.
The evening featured some drama before the ceremony even started. An official website published a profile naming Kane as the winner hours early, then deleted it quickly. The entire event was delayed by 45 minutes, but the wait did not stop Kane from claiming his historic victory.
Goals and Trophies at Bayern Munich
Kane has enjoyed incredible form since moving to Germany. His numbers for Bayern Munich are staggering, with 158 goals in 156 matches following his transfer from Tottenham in 2023. During the voting period, he scored 73 goals in 65 matches.
His success was not limited to personal scoring records. He won the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the German Supercup, while also leading England to a third place finish at the FIFA World Cup with six goals in the tournament. He thanked his former club after taking the stage, saying he would not be where he is without Tottenham.
