Parsons Target Date Set
Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons is looking to make his return to the field on November 25. The team is targeting the Wednesday night Thanksgiving Eve game against the Los Angeles Rams for his first action of the season.
Parsons has met all of his recent rehabilitation markers. He is scheduled to return to practice next week, though his recovery process will continue step by step with the medical team.
The Step By Step Ramp Up Plan
The recovery plan created by the training staff involves a clear progression. Next week, Parsons will participate in individual drills during team practices.
If everything goes well, he will advance to full team drills the following week. The Packers then have their bye in Week 11. After the break, Green Bay will face an abbreviated week of preparation leading up to the Wednesday night game against the Rams.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur expressed his eager anticipation for the defender's return while respecting the medical decisions. LaFleur said he is definitely itching for it, but acknowledged that the final call belongs to the medical staff.
Injury History And Podcast Comments
Parsons has not played since December 14, when he tore his ACL and meniscus. He had surgery on December 29 to reconstruct the ACL and fully repair the meniscus. Last season, he recorded 12.5 sacks in 14 games before getting injured.
Speaking on his podcast, The Edge, Parsons explained why he wants to take his time. He noted that an ACL injury is connected to the whole body chain, and rushing back often leads to overcompensation injuries on the other side. He said he wants to make sure all the small things are fixed first before he returns to action.
